     John E. Smith, 42, of 1872 Mohawk Dr., died Monday at the residence.
     A design engineer at Rockwell International and member of East Side Church of Christ, he is survived by his wife Karla; three sons, Aaron M., Kyle E. and Brett A., all of the home; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Archie Smith, Lancaster; two sisters, Mrs. Richard (Marilyn) Pierce, Carroll, and Karen Smith, Lancaster; several aunts and uncles; nieces and nephews.
     Funeral services will be Thursday, 2 p.m., in the chapel of the Frank E. Smith Funeral Home; Keith Kress officiating; burial in floral Hills Memory Gardens.
     Friends may call today, 7-9 p.m., Wednesday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., and until time of service Thursday at the funeral home.  Family suggests contributions be made to East Side Church of Christ, c/o Frank E. Smith Funeral Home.
